PSL launches new integrated online assessment white paper

To de-mystify the subject of online testing

PSL (Psychometric Services Ltd) one of the UKís leading developers and suppliers of offline and online psychometric tests, is launching a new user-friendly guide to online testing, including the use of item banked and randomised tests to minimise over-exposure and reduce the possibility of candidate cheating. PSLís animated presentation is available to view at WWW.PSL.COM/IOA, commencing April 2004.

This easy-to-navigate presentation takes the viewer through the various stages of online assessment both from the recruiter and applicant perspective, without jargon and in simple, practical terms.

According to the author of this work, Dunstan Arthur, a consultant at PSL:

ìThe subject of online testing is currently a hot topic within HR circles and, as with any relatively new concept, best practice is still being established. Online testing will clearly be a preferred option for some clients although this does not in any way detract from the importance of more traditional forms of assessment. At PSL we offer clients the choice but with more options at our fingertips we are well poised to satisfy evolving industry demandî.

ìFurthermore, what we have found since 1999 when we launched PSLís first online offering, is that, over time, our clients have seen the transparent benefits of online testing, particularly in the context of high volume recruitment. For one organisation the key benefit might be a direct reduction of the costs and resources required to sift a large numbers of candidates. For another it might be a faster recruitment process and the ability to select the best candidates before their competitors. PSL works with organisations to help them get the best from their online assessment process according to their requirements,î he added.
