Professional web-based recruitment solution from Abacus eMedia

HR Software Show, 23-24 June 2004, Olympia, London, Stand number A12

Developed by Abacus eMedia in collaboration with HR professionals in the public and private sector, Recruit is a web-based management and workflow solution which streamlines the management of every aspect of the recruitment process. Clients for Recruit include Leicester City Council, Lincolnshire County Council, Derbyshire County Council and Devon County Council and Partner Councils.

Recruit significantly reduces the time and cost of hiring staff whilst exploiting the power of the Internet to attract candidates through an organisationís own web site as well as via on-line job boards.

Recruit provides the tools for staff to easily and quickly handle the various stages of recruitment including:

initiate - Recruitís collaboration and workflow tools provide assistance in creating job descriptions, person specifications and ads for the web and printed media. A job specification library also minimises duplication and encourages a standard approach.

publish - as soon as the requisition and ad copy are signed off, the vacancy is made available on the web site for candidates to apply online. The vacancy is automatically exported to other job boards and sent via email to relevant publishers.

shortlist - user-friendly web-based forms provide the means to shortlist and communicate with applicants, together with multi-stage scoring capabilities

interview - automated email and mail merge features keep candidates up to date with the progress of their application

reporting - Recruit incorporates flexible, dynamic reporting to provide analysis and real-time statistics of the recruitment process

Leicester City Council is just one of the organisations who have selected Recruit to provide a web-based solution for their recruitment needs. Shilpa Arya, Senior HR Officer at the Council said: Recruit widens the potential pool of applicants, whilst the back-end processes certainly make our recruitment processes more effective and efficient. The new system from Abacus e-media will enable us to meet the e-Government strategy to have all services on-line well in advance of the deadline of 2005.

Steve Feigen, managing director, Abacus eMedia commented: Reaction to Recruit has been very positive. By developing it in close collaboration with a number of hands-on HR professionals, I believe that we have designed an extremely comprehensive, yet flexible and easy to use recruitment solution. We recognise that no two HR departments work in exactly the same way. Recruit has been designed to be eminently configurable and to support the individual culture of an organisation or department, rather than trying to force changes in existing work practices.

For organisations such as local government bodies, recruitment is an on-going challenge to attract the right level of candidates. Recruit is certainly helping to address this issue by ensuring the production and dissemination of job opportunities is as fast and as efficient as possible. In the competitive job market, Recruit is able to deliver measurable recruitment and financial benefits.
