Pegasus Payroll accredited by Inland Revenue

Solution successfully meets criteria of payroll standard

Following extensive assessment, the Inland Revenue has accredited Pegasus Software’s Opera II Version 3 Payroll solution. Pegasus is now one of only a small number of providers in the UK to be formally accredited.

The accreditation process is intense and required a significant amount of preparation by the team at Pegasus. In addition to structured technical testing, the Inland Revenue assessment team spent two full days with Pegasus evaluating the use and administration of the solution.

Gary Turner, managing director at Pegasus, explained: We underwent over 4,500 separate tests that evaluated all aspects of our payroll solution from its ability to perform complex tax calculations to how we administer our solution technically. All tests had to match to the penny and I am delighted that we have achieved the exacting standards demanded by the Inland Revenue. We have seen that when users are selecting solutions they are increasingly seeking such accreditations to help differentiate between the alternatives available to them. I am confident that in achieving the required standard to be accredited we have added another string to an already strong solution. In choosing Pegasus Payroll, users can be confident that they have one of the UK’s leading solutions in their armoury.

Pegasus is firmly focused on remaining at the forefront of technical advancement and its Payroll is also e-enabled so that users can submit end of year returns via the Internet. Such capabilities further strengthen the value proposition offered by Pegasus to its 20,000 users across the UK.

Gary Graham, Payroll Standard Accreditation Scheme Manager, at the Inland Revenue, commented: Payroll represents a core function within all organisations and effective payroll processes are essential to a satisfied and motivated workforce. In establishing this standard we are encouraging the adoption of best practice among providers and setting a benchmark against which users can identify the most appropriate solution from providers across the UK. For the first time, users can be confident that accredited solutions comply with the legislative requirements and that they have the required functionality required to facilitate complex payroll transactions.
