Peak awarded good code of practice

As part of its membership of The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Peak’s recruitment division, which is specific to well construction disciplines, has adopted the confederation’s Code of Good Recruitment Practice.

The Peak Group provides qualified day rate consultants and affiliated personnel to the drilling and well construction industry. By adopting the REC’s Code of Good Practice The Peak Group commits to conduct its business ethically and to the highest standards. By committing to the code, Peak will be subject to monitoring by the REC if complaints are received from either candidates, workers or clients. In order to achieve these standards, the REC offers guidance and training for all members, in the form of specialist industry seminars and conferences.

These events will provide Peak with essential updates on key issues such as legislation, business planning and business development. Peak will have access to legal and commercial advice, and to a team of three in-house specialist recruitment lawyers. These industry specialists advise on legal issues regarding the recruitment industry including terms of business, data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety matters.

In addition, each year The Peak Group receives an updated CD-ROM containing the current Legal Reference guide. It is the authoritative guide for the recruitment industry and is a valuable business tool.

Gareth Osborne, managing director of the REC welcomed The Peak Group as a member: We are delighted that The Peak Group has joined the REC and believe its commitment to high standards should be recognised and applauded. We have a group of dynamic and enthusiastic members in Scotland who are keen to see service standards improved and, as a result, recruitment given the recognition its deserves as a principal business support service by both the business community and the public sector. In Scotland, the REC hopes to enhance its relationship with the Scottish Assembly, regional business groups and end users. Our Scottish agencies see the reformation of an REC Scotland brand as a significant step forward and we are very pleased that The Peak Group has joined the REC and recognises the benefits of this work.

Andrew Paterson, managing director of The Peak Group, said: The REC and Peak demand extremely high standards in recruitment, and at Peak we appreciate how important it is to keep up to date with legislative changes in the well construction industry. Our REC membership indicates our dedication to the continued recruitment of quality personnel and our commitment to exceed our clients’ expectations, both nationally and internationally.
