Parity partners for pay-as-you-go e-learning

to deliver over 1,000 online courses, on-demand

Parity is launching its own pay-per-use e-learning service based on Kognitaís Site4Learning technology. In an exclusive partnership, Parity and Kognita will offer a wide-ranging e-learning portfolio that includes content from the worldís top e-learning providers.

Individuals and companies will be able to select from over 1,000 online courses paying for access by conventional means or online, using a credit card. From July 26 courses will be available in technical IT, desktop IT, business, management and leadership, finance, health and safety and sales. Courses planned for release at a later stage will address the needs of other industry sectors including manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, retail, transport, pharmaceuticals and processing operations.

This innovative service offers Parityís corporate clients the opportunity to establish a branded e-learning service that can be used by employees, contractors or customers, with each client being provided with tracking and reporting tools as standard. E-learning can be provided from the extensive library of off-the-shelf titles, through purpose-built, client-specific courses or through a combination of these two. The system will support the deployment of pure e-learning courses, blended courses and conventional instructor-led training courses.

HBOS is one of the first companies to sign up to the e-learning programme. ìHaving the ability to develop tailored learning programmes, deliver them in bite-sized chunks and only pay for what we use underpins our business objectives,î said Jayne Edwards, training manager at HBOS.

ìWe want to give our staff access to targeted, timely and good-value learning resources, which our previous licence-based system wasnít able to deliver. Itís vital that we can track each learning session per user to assess the effectiveness of the training and charge the costs back to the specific business unit.î

ìOn-demand e-learning allows employees to help themselves to the right skills at the right time,î said Barbara Greenway, managing director at Parityís Training division. ìPeople are beginning to adopt a life-long learning approach to training, making the availability and flexibility of pay-as-you-go e-learning a very real benefit.î
