Northgate Information Solutions plc announce appointments

Appointment of four new board directors

Northgate Information Solutions plc (’Northgate’), a leading supplier of software applications and outsourcing solutions to the criminal justice, local government and human resources markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Directors to the Board.

Northgate has appointed Nick Starritt and David Hodgson as non-executive directors. The appointment of Nick Starritt reflects the increasing size of the HR division within Northgate as a whole. Having worked within the HR sector for 30 years, Nick brings a wealth of knowledge of the Human Resources’ markets to the Board. His experience includes four years as the Group Vice-President of Human Resources for BP plc; he was also a non-executive director of RebusHR before its acquisition by Northgate. David Hodgson is a Partner at General Atlantic Partners, the IT investment firm, which has a c.14% stake in Northgate.

Additionally, two of Northgate’s existing divisional heads, David Meaden and Malcolm Aldis, have been promoted to the Board. David Meaden joined Northgate in 1994 and, as Managing Director of the Public Sector division, currently has overall responsibility for Northgate’s development in the local government and criminal justice markets. Malcolm Aldis has been the Managing Director of Northgate’s Human Resources division since 1998 and has overseen the rapid growth of this division and the integration of RebusHR into the Group.

Nick Irens, Chairman, said:

These appointments reflect the transformation Northgate has undergone over the last year and the scale of the company’s forward ambitions. Nick Starritt’s knowledge of the HR sector will complement the experience that Sir Stephen Lander has already brought to Northgate of the criminal justice system, and the appointment of Dave Meaden and Malcolm Aldis recognises the contribution they will bring to the decision making process on the Board.
