Newcastle city council chooses Qwiz tests again

Newcastle City Council, one of the largest employers in the North-East of England, has confirmed that they will continue to use Qwiz skills tests (distributed by PSL (Psychometric Services Ltd) throughout 2004, when recruiting for word processing and secretarial support positions.

Qwiz has worked with Newcastle City Council since 2003 and was originally chosen because of the range and quality of assessments it could offer. Since that time, Qwiz has consistently provided reliable and accurate tests and friendly and efficient customer service, helping the Councilís recruitment teams to find the very best candidates.

According to the Resourcing Team for Newcastle City Councilís Temporary Staff Register:

ìWhilst technology has facilitated many tasks within our daily working lives, here at Newcastle City Council, we heavily rely upon a pool of competent support staff to carry out high levels of administrative work in a fast and professional mannerî.

ìAs the traditional secretarial role has shifted over time and with support staff being asked to wear many more ëhatsí, perhaps standards in old fashioned word processing skills have become more lax due to lack of time and training. Consequently, finding support staff with the right skills and abilities has become more difficult. Whilst many job applicants at any level may know how to use a computer and have some knowledge of software packages, it is crucial for our teams to be highly competent in typing and word processing,î they added.
