New REC council members elected

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) council election results were announced at the Annual General Meeting today.

Using online voting, 5 per cent of recruitment businesses in REC membership voted for their preferred candidates to fill the corporate positions on the board. There was no election required for individual director positions, due to insufficient candidates.

The four corporate members elected today are:

  • Jessica Williams (Founder, Sidekicks)
  • Jacqueline Hilton (Managing Director, Fidelis Partners)
  • Tim Jacob (Group Commercial Director, The Rethink Group)
  • Gary Wilson (Chairman, Essential Recruitment)

The one individual members elected today is:

Louise Hewett (Managing Director, Hewett Recruitment)

REC acting chief executive David Vallance said:

“I am delighted to welcome our newly elected council members for 2018. This is a very exciting time for the recruitment industry – we’re bigger than ever before and the value that recruiters bring to clients becomes even more important in the context of widespread skills shortages and economic uncertainty. It’s also an exciting time for the REC with our new CEO Neil Carberry joining us later this month”.

“We want our industry to lead on the issues that drive the jobs market, and the REC council will play a vital role in helping us to drive the profile and reputation of our industry.

“We know that jobs transform lives, and with the strategic direction from today’s successful candidates all of whom will bring a wealth of experience and passion to their new roles - will help us do more for our members”.
