New Lawspeed/PCG alliance to benefit freelancers

.

Lawspeed, a specialist legal and contracts consultancy and the Professional Contractorsí Group (PCG) have entered into a new collaborative arrangement covering contracts and expert advisory services for freelancers and interim managers. The announcement of the arrangement coincided with the PCGís recent annual conference at which Adrian Marlowe, Managing Director of Lawspeed was a speaker.

Simon Griffiths, Chairman of the PCG, which represents the interests of freelancers throughout the UK, commented, ëThe PCG are experts in contracting and Lawspeed experts in IR35 and contractual issues between contractors, recruitment consultancies and end users, and this is the key to this new collaboration. This arrangement highlights the proactive approach the PCG takes to products and services that can help members to operate more effectively. We look forward to working with Lawspeed.í

Adrian Marlowe, Managing Director of Lawspeed, said, ëOur specialist contract templates and services are based on many yearsí experience of advising business operations, recruiters and freelancers on commercial risk, and since 1999 on IR35. The recent PCG approval of our project based template which operates with our unique new FAST (freelance advice and support) service, linked to use of the template, underlines a new formula for taking the traditional agency and freelancer relationship forward. We welcome the arrangements with the PCG and our shared recognition that both recruitment consultancies and freelancers can achieve more by working together.î

Adrian went on to say ìThe overriding objective is that the effort and time involved in explaining and understanding contractual terms is greatly reduced for both recruitment consultancy and freelancer at the same time as providing reliable and effective contract terms.
For the first time ever there is an integrated service to remove some of the difficulties that have deterred some recruiters and end users from dealing with freelancers genuinely able to operate outside IR35. Everyone in the contract chain should benefit!î
