Nearly 50% of people in the office will drink 4 or more cups of coffee or tea in one day

.

Over the last month, www.TipTopJob.com have found that 46% of employees drink 4 or more cups of tea or coffee in one day - a surprising finding given the healthier lifestyle that people are leading now. Only 20% of responders say that they drink no cups of coffee or tea in a day and 33% say they have between 1 and 3 cups.

Caffeine does make us feel better, more alert; we sometimes exercise better, even think better. This is why so many people drink so much of it ñ and then we become addicted.

As far as medical risks are concerned, we should not ideally consume more than 1 or 2 cups per day. Caffeine can increase your blood pressure and levels of stress hormones, and if consumed in large quantities it can lead to heart palpitations, jitters and nervousness. We may need to start regulating the amount we drink in a day or look at replacing the excessive number of caffeinated drinks with one of the many alternatives to standard coffee and tea that are around now!
