MrTed pioneers multilingual European recruitment technology market - 09/2001

.

MrTed TalentLink version 1.3 operates in 11 languages and can just as easily handle equal opportunity issues in the USA while adapting to the standard practice of attaching degree certificates to online CVs in Germany.

Electronic recruitment solutions are rapidly gaining acceptance in corporate HR departments, notably in the USA, but the European need for a multilingual and multilocal application has given MrTed the edge against stiff competition from US suppliers, in what Forrester Research predicts will be a multibillion dollar market within just a few years.

Jerome Ternynck, CEO and co-founder, MrTed, commented, ìGlobal businesses are looking for a single application which they can deploy anywhere in the world but with all the flexibility required to meet differing local recruitment practices. In Europe this is non-negotiable, as these recent client wins confirm. Any solution must be designed as multilingual and multilocal from the outset for the web-based recruitment market to take off in Europe.î
Rob van Wingerden, recruitment director for Philips Semiconductors, said, ìTalentLink gives us the ability to manage our candidate supply chain strategically and with greater efficiency, in each of our markets. We expect this will ultimately lead to accelerated local sourcing and hiring times as well as improving our candidate relationship management.î

Jerome Ternynck expressed confidence that TalentLink v1.3 - which delivers CSCM combined with a multilingual and multilocal capability - will enable MrTed to capture a significant share of the electronic recruitment market, particularly in Europe.

Later this month MrTed will release the results of a pan-European recruitment study - conducted in collaboration with Hay Group - which examines the latest trends and projects in the recruitment practices of major businesses and corporations in Europe.

The advent of online recruiting has led many businesses to advertise vacancies on jobboards and corporate websites leading to massive backlogs of CVs waiting to be processed, often for weeks.

HR departments are now looking for complete electronic recruitment solutions which will automate selection, sourcing and management response processes. The majority of HR directors surveyed strongly believe that electronic recruitment will radically transform candidate/employer relationships with paper-based CVs playing a lesser role.

Fifty percent of respondents specifically highlighted tailored information content and the speed of transactions as key factors which will allow them to attract and retain better candidates.

Candidate Supply Chain Management (CSCM) gives businesses the ability to work with structured information, in real-time, which is rich in content and which links all the parties involved in the recruitment effort (internal & external) - from candidates, advertisers, professional recruiters and HR managers to individual hiring managers - in one powerful interactive network.
