Launch of new body to promote Online Recruitment

Online Recruitment Marketing Council (ORMC)

The growing online recruitment industry will be boosted this month by the launch of the Online Recruitment Marketing Council (ORMC) established to promote the benefits of the industry to employers, recruiters and job-seekers.

David Hurst, chairman of ORMC explains, ë We are the first organisation to unite generalist and specialist jobsites with a range of suppliers to the online recruitment industry including providers of careers advice, software, psychometric testing, candidate management and multiple posting systems.

ëOur goals are to raise awareness of how using the internet can add-value to the employment process for employers and candidates in terms of speed, choice and cost-effectiveness and to develop a focal point for anyone interested in finding out more about online recruitment.

ëThe rationale for consumers to go online to find their next job is overwhelming: four in five homes have access to broadband, people change jobs frequently, will work for more years and are open to work opportunities outside their current occupation or location. We see this emergent demand driving our industry forward over the next five years.í

Businesses interested in recruiting online may reserve a place at ORMCís first open meeting on 4th November in London by emailing info@ORMC.org.uk .
