Jobsite sees in 2004 in style

.

Jobsite.co.uk, the online recruitment website has announced a good start to 2004, breaking all previous records held at the start of a New Year in terms of registrations, traffic, new CVs and applications.

As New Year’s resolutions are made, inevitably the seasonal rush to find new employment starts. 2004 is proving no different as the post-New Year blues set in and work dissatisfaction reaches an unprecedented high - the migration to online recruitment sites has reached peak levels.

Already, in only the first 6 days of 2004 Jobsite has experienced levels of use that were previously only deemed unachievable.

So far in 2004 Jobsite has received 288,227 visits and 1,907,030 page impressions. Most amazingly Tuesday January 6th recorded 93,599 visits to www.jobsite.co.uk beating the site’s previous record by nearly 18,000 visits. Almost 22,000 applications were received on that same day.

In the same period Jobsite has already received 12,000 new registrations to the site and a total of 59,000 applications, with just fewer than 7,000 new CVs being added to the site.

Although traditionally this is always the busiest period for the online recruitment sector, these figures are clearly proof positive that new employment is very high up on most people’s agendas for 2004.

Keith Potts, Jobsite managing director, comments: This is hugely encouraging for Jobsite and the online recruitment market in general, 2004 promises to be a very active year in this market.

It would have been no news to us that January was going to be a busy month but to see these unprecedented levels of activity is really quite amazing.

It is important to point out that not only is there a large amount of activity from the candidates, but the numbers of vacancies being submitted during this period is also very encouraging - that balance always needs to be maintained.
