Jobserve Takes Bite Out Of Canadian Recruitment Market

JobServe has added JobShark.com to its fast growing group of companies

JobServe has added JobShark.com to its fast growing group of companies. The Essex based company today announced its latest move onto the global stage with the signing of an agreement to acquire JobShark.com the Canadian job publisher for an undisclosed sum. This move continues JobServeís interest in North America following the recent US purchases of ComputerJobs.com, CareerBoard.com, Computerwork.com and the establishing of JobServe USA.

JobShark.com was founded in 1997 quickly becoming one the most popular job boards in Canada and now has nearly 1 million registered members and over 4 million users a year. JobShark developed its sophisticated skills profiling and targeting tool, known as Jaws, in-house, it accurately matches candidates to vacancies, keeping the Ottawa based company at the forefront of an ever evolving market.

ìWe place a high value on JobSharkís managerial expertise and future growth prospects,î said Robbie Cowling, JobServeís founder and Managing Director. ìTogether, our partnership will see JobServe grow to provide unquestioned leadership in the North American Internet based recruitment industry. I warmly welcome Chris and his team to the JobServe family.î

Chris Klotz, JobShark CEO, said the agreement was ìtruly an example of success building on success. Our considerable, common strengths will allow both companies to extend their reach, deploy best of breed technology and provide clients with unsurpassed service. The new JobShark is now poised to become the ëgo-toí online recruitment company across Canada. We offer greater exposure for advertisers and deliver better qualified candidates, while providing job seekers with superior matching and the opportunity to search employment opportunities across JobServeís global network.î

As part of the agreement, JobSharkís executive team will remain in place to assist JobServe in extending its global presence beyond Europe and Australasia into the Americas.
