Intronet scoops Scottish software award

IntroNet, innovator of web-based eHR solutions, were today celebrating accreditation as one of the top 3 software companies of 2004 at the annual Scottish Software Awards on Tuesday, 15th of June.

With global headquarters located in Edinburgh, IntroNetís award recognised the companyís contribution in creating wealth for Scotland and in putting Scotland on the international software map. As finalists in the top award category of Software Company of the Year, IntroNet were assessed on their vision, ambition, management, commercial success and international publicity. The judging panel was chaired by Gordon Thomson, Country Manager for Scotland, Cisco Systems Ltd.

Alastair Balfour, Chairman of Company Creators, part of the judging panel acclaimed, ìIntroNet had a very interesting business model and all judges agreed it was a company to watch for in the future.î

Sponsored by Scottish Enterprise, the awards ceremony took place at the Radisson SAS in Glasgow and proved popular, attracting around 70 companies in competition.

Kevin Johnston, Project Manager, Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian, said: ìThe standards at this years awards were very high and the criteria for this award was tough. We would like to congratulate IntroNet and all the awards winners on their success.î

The event was opened by George Boag, CEO of Targeting Innovations Ltd and included guest speakers William G. Nisen, CEO of the Kelvin Institute and Dr Majid Anwar, Chief Scientist and Founder of Picsel Technologies.

During his speech Mr Nisen stated he was ìhugely optimisticî for the future of Scottish software as companies continue to demonstrate a high level of quality and innovation revealing, ìYou just have to look around at the range of award winners here today to appreciate the world class nature of our products and services.î
