Staff and managers at a leading Hampshire firm are celebrating after winning the coveted Investors in People award ñ which has set the seal on an amazing year.

The Fareham-based Hampshire and Solent Learning Hub, which provides online learndirect courses to thousands of local people, won the award as a result of its high level of commitment to training its employees.

The award was given by the Learning and Skills Council for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight - and the Learning Hubís chief executive, Denise Candy, was delighted to receive the prestigious accolade.

She said: ìItís wonderful to win the IIP award; it is a fitting recognition of our dedication to investing in our employees ñ for example, most of my staff are currently taking personal development courses, supported and funded by the Hub.

ìThe award is also a great foundation on which to build the continuing success of the company. During the last year our annual turnover grew to nearly 7 million, and we also achieved our goal of enrolling 10,000 employees of SMEs onto learndirect courses.

ìIn addition, we have just secured a new two-year contract to plan and deliver the courses to more than 100,000 people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as well as being awarded the contract to develop learndirect in Berkshire.

ìTherefore the business is at a crucial turning point, from where I expect it to grow considerably. The IIP award will help us move forward into the future by ensuring that our staff are motivated, productive ñ and happy.î
