To combat the challenges of working in global time-zones and providing information on a real time basis, HCL Comnet, the IT services management arm of HCL Technologies, has developed an online human resource connecting tool called the Smart Business Manager.
Smart Business Manager is a workflow-based automation and reporting initiative which connects all employees at a global level.
It tracks, monitors and updates business activities across 10 business applications like enterprise resource planning, human resources, sales force automation. It is a real time reporting and time monitoring tool which is transparent.
The other applications of Smart Business Manager are Smart Recruit for recruitment needs, Smart Sales for tracking sales organisation, Smart Engineer for tracking engineering productivity, Smart Projects to track the status of projects, Smart Leave for online leave management, Smart Service Desk for ticketing and transaction monitoring, E-hr for online salary status, Netconsole for serving customers and tracking network status and Manpowertracker which is the online tool for mapping and tracking skill and manpower base.
This in-house HR monitoring tool developed by HCL Comnet aims to eliminate the need for internal customers to chase other departments for information.
The tool is designed specifically for Comnet employees, including specific internal and external departments, operations management teams, senior management and internal end users.
The company has implemented SBM for online operations on a global basis for employees across the world, including 24 locations in India.
