Guru.com Growth Continues in Second Quarter 2004

Key Areas Witness Double-Digit Growth

Guru.com (www.guru.com), the world’s largest online marketplace for freelance talent, announced double-digit growth in two important metrics for the second quarter of 2004 compared to the second quarter of 2003. The total number of projects posted on Guru.com rose 37 percent, while revenue increased 69 percent in the second quarter of 2004.

Guru.com witnessed strong gains in our key metrics in the second quarter of 2004, stated Inder Guglani, Guru.com’s CEO and Co-Founder. During the second quarter, we focused on improving our recently launched Web model. Introduced on March 8, 2004, our new Guru.com website streamlined the process for both employers and independent contractors. As part of our continuing effort to create an ideal user experience, we used the second quarter to create and implement improvements suggested by the very people who use our service. As we enter the third quarter, we will continue to improve our model, as well as focus on the exciting product enhancement ideas slated for implementation over the next 12 months.

Also during the second quarter of 2004, the company launched an improved project search tool for professionals. The improved search tool, which includes advanced filtering and sorting functionality, allows professionals to search for projects by category, by project identification number, or by keyword. When conducting a search, professionals can save interesting projects in a watch list for review and bidding at a later time. In addition to the improved project search, Guru.com added an award project function that allows employers to award a project to a professional via the Guru.com website. After receiving the award notification, professionals can accept or decline the project online.
