Gulf Air take off with e-recruitment

.

Since January 2003, Gulf Air has successfully hired 350 new staff. This is attributed not only to the airlineís innovative restructuring strategy, but also to the implementation of a state of the art e-recruitment system.

Following an agreement in January with Sniperhire, the UAE-based developers of a state-of-the-art e-recruitment solution, Gulf Air has implemented the Sniperhire Applicant Tracking system, which is being used to support the airlineís active recruitment programmes.

Julian Phillips co-founder of the company said: ìWhile working with Gulf Air, we have been exposed to a diversity of recruitment demands and have been able to demonstrate the systemís ability to cope with a whole range of requirements.î

ìE-recruitment is a relatively new process at Gulf Air, and before our partnership with Sniperhire we had never recruited anyone over the Web,î said Vice President of Human Resources at Gulf Air, Ian Waterhouse. ìToday our statistics show a different story and e-recruitment is now pivotal throughout our entire human resource management and planning.î

ìFor the first time we are able to create focused pipelines of pre-screened applicants ready for future planned vacancies. Since going online with our recruitment, our key performance indicators demonstrate increased corporate web traffic, and we have successfully hired over 350 new staff with just as many pre-screened potential new applicants in the pipeline. In short, Sniperhire has allowed us to align our recruitment processes with the needs of our business going forward and is helping us improve our positioning as an employer of choice,î said Mr Waterhouse.

He also noted that the greater work process efficiencies offered by the system, and maximized by Sniperhire training, were resulting in better applicant quality, lower recruitment costs, and reduced hiring cycles.

In conclusion, Mr Phillips said: ìIn the next stage of the partnership we will design a comprehensive e-career centre that will cater for all of Gulf Airís diverse recruitment needs and provide relevant information to job seekers so that they can make informed decisions about their careers.î
