Graduate branding is a winning strategy for Flag at AGR awards

.

Interactivity and strong branding have earned Flagís graduate recruitment team no less than five awards at the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) conference, for work with KPMG, Standard Life, Centrica and Nabarro Nathanson. Notable for being judged by the end users ñ students from leading student organisations, who are tasked with selecting the best recruitment literature and websites around ñ the AGR awards are highly regarded and much sought after.

Flagís team was delighted by the awards which have endorsed their unique approach to graduate recruitment. ëIn a competitive market place the culture of an organisation ñ which is communicated via the brand ñ is a key differentiator,ë comments Helen Dickson, Account Director at Flag. ëEffective branding creates an emotional bond between the graduate and the employer. It should be articulated through every step of the attraction and selection process and beyond. We believe that we have achieved this with these campaigns but itís great to hear the students think so too!í

KPMGís website www.kpmgcareers.co.uk achieved first place in the category for companies recruiting over 100 graduates. The website was praised for its interactive map and table of current vacancies, as well as the facility to print your own personalised brochure. Response times and detailed feedback for rejected candidates were also commended.

The Standard Life website www.standardlife.com/graduatelife and brochure each won second prize in categories for companies recruiting 31ñ100 graduates. Flag created the concept ëLIFEí to position work as just one aspect of an individualís experience with Standard Life, and to highlight the companyís commitment to workñlife balance via honesty and humour.

Centrica scooped first prize in the category for companies recruiting less than 30 graduates. Flag created the Centrica graduate brand, which ran through the website and the brochure. The winning brochure offered a very immediate understanding of what Centrica is and the opportunities available to graduates.

Last, but certainly not least, Flag won ëBest overall brochureí on behalf of top legal firm Nabarro Nathanson, with the judgesí consensus, ëIt makes me want to be a lawyer!í. As one of the most reader-friendly brochures of the awards, the entry gained recognition for its outstanding design, demonstrating the firmís values in an honest and straightforward way.

Helen Dickson commented, ëTo have been awarded so many prizes at one event is hugely exciting, both for Flag and for our clients, and itís a real vote of confidence in all our hard work from the people who matter most, the graduates themselves.í

Flag also conducted a session at the conference on creative communications training, designed to help graduate recruiters communicate effectively at personal and organisational levels, in order to influence people, and to align the values and messages of their organisation with those of the individual at work.
