Gambling Industry: Your Next Job Opportunity?

The gambling industry is extensive, it sprawls both the real and virtual world, and in the US alone, it is worth $240 Billion, and employs more than 1.7 million people.

From croupiers and pit bosses to software designers and website managers, there’s probably a job that you could do in the industry. Plus there are some great benefits that make working in the gambling industry an attractive opportunity.

The Salary

Let’s begin at the part that most people are here to read about: the pay. Often, the salary packages available in the gambling industry can be higher than average. Plus, within the industry, there are quite a few jobs that don’t require a college degree whilst still commanding a high salary. Gambling managers can take home $84,700 on average, which is about twice the national average for jobs without a degree. Plus, Gambling managers can expect a 6.5% industry-wide wage growth before 2028.

Industry Growth

The gambling industry is on the up, there’s no question about it. Online gambling is currently hovering at around a $60 Billion revenue in 2020, but experts expect this value to more than double to $127 Billion by 2027. They put this down to increasing legalization in countries and states that used to be less accepting of gambling, as well as growing ease of access. With the advancements in technology, the ease of access has changed too. You only need to look at the prizes in daily jackpot games on some sites to understand how big the industry must be; imagine being able to give away that amount every day! A profitable industry means a greater degree of job security. Plus with industry growth comes even more job opportunities.

Whether you’re already employed in the industry and looking for a promotion or raise, or looking to swoop into one of the many newly-created job roles, the gambling industry is a safe bet.

Exciting and Interesting

An often-overlooked feature of many jobs is how interesting they are. Sure, you could sell insurance or provide customer support at a tech company, and they’ll also be stable and have great wages, but will they interest you? The gambling industry is generally pretty competitive, if you’re ambitious then there will always be opportunities to try something new. Plus, you can’t help but be consumed by the excitement of everything that’ll be going on around you. On a daily basis, games are won and lost, money is made and outcomes of sporting events are correctly (or incorrectly) predicted. There’ll never be a dull day!

The gambling industry is a fast-paced and rapidly growing industry with a variety of job opportunities. If you’re considering a career move, or fresh out of college or high school (remember you don’t always need a degree), and looking for an interesting career, why not consider a job in a casino or with an online casino?
