Firstpoint wins NHS endorsement

Recruitment drive launched by Firstpoint

FIRSTPOINT Healthcare is launching a major recruitment drive for nurses after winning approval to supply its sixth region of health authorities

Firstpoint, which has offices throughout the UK, has been named as an approved supplier for the Governmentís South East Regional Agency Project (RAP) which covers health trusts responsible for more than 100 hospitals.

It includes trusts covering Berkshire, East Kent, Dartford, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Guildford and Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and involves the supply of staff for wards, theatres and mental health units.

During 2002, trusts in the region spent a total of 79 million on agency nurses, midwives and health visitors.

ìWe are delighted to have been approved to supply these hospitals. The new RAP aims to make it easier for hospitals to meet their staffing needs since it identifies approved suppliers,î said Firstpointís chief executive John Court.

ìIt also gives set rates of pay per hour, outlines specific types of staff and defines employment terms so that all these areas are standardised across the region.

ìWe have built our reputation on providing highly professional and motivated staff and have a bank of experienced nurses but we will now be recruiting more staff to meet the hospitalsí needs.î

Firstpoint Healthcare offers staff flexible working and a package of benefits. Many of its staff work for the company on a full-time basis.

Firstpoint Healthcare has already been approved to supply nurses to many NHS hospitals and trusts through the London Agency Project, the West Midlands Agency Project, the Eastern Agency Project, the Northern and Yorkshire Agency Project and Trent Agency Project.

It is also renowned for enabling UK based nurses to work in Australia through a unique four-year sponsorship arrangement.
