FDM and Mission Testing Ltd Join Forces to Fill Software Testing Shortage

Brighton’s global IT services company, FDM, today announced a strategic partnership with Mission Testing

Brighton’s global IT services company, FDM, today announced a strategic partnership with Mission Testing to expand its award-winning training programme to include software testing. The partnership will enable the two companies to train students in the latest automated software testing tools and provide highly skilled IT professionals to the UK market.

The new course offered by FDM and Mission Testing has been developed to fill the current national skills gap for qualified software testers. Recent growth in this particular sector of the IT market has been fuelled by a huge increase in offshore software development. Students will learn fundamental technical skills in testing processes, methodologies and procedures as well as training in the ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing and Mercury’s TestDirector.

FDM’s Academy is the UK’s longest running IT training scheme and is unique because it offers free training in return for students committing to a two-year employment contract with FDM. FDM has helped thousands of trainees gain invaluable work experience and the skills they need to enter the IT job market.

Trevor Collins, Consultancy Services Director, at Mission Testing, commented: There is large-scale demand amongst our clients for graduates with skills in this arena and we are working with FDM to provide a comprehensive training programme which is uniquely tailored to the needs of the market. Our companies have complementary skills in the recruitment and IT fields which mean that we are ideally placed to offer our students and clients the best possible services.

Julian Divett, Technical Director of FDM, added: Software testing is critical to the IT market and is an obvious add-on to our core IT training programmes. We will be providing cost-effective solutions to software testing and have already won large scale testing contacts with companies such as Fidelity and RBOS.

FDM will be running an open day on Friday 6th August at its offices from 10am to 6pm to recruit for this programme. The address is FDM Group plc, Lanchester House, Trafalgar Place, Brighton, BN1 4FL.
