Executive Job Index up slightly in June

USA statistics

ExecuNet, a career management and recruiting resource centre for executives and recruiters, today released its Executive Job Index (EJI) data through June 28, 2003. Calculated biweekly since 1997, the EJI measures hiring trends in the executive employment market. The Index is at 189.9 (1997=100), up slightly from 186.3 at the end of May.

Stability in the executive employment market in June is an encouraging sign, as the summer months are typically sluggish, says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. If corporate profits continue to improve, the employment market should gain strength during the second half of the year.
There was above average demand for Human Resources and Operations Management executives in June. Demand for Finance, General Management, Sales/Marketing, MIS/IT, and Consulting executives trailed the average during the month.
