Exec-appointments.com has been shortlisted for this yearís Department of Trade and Industry e-commerce excellence awards.

The national award scheme, designed to showcase best practice in the innovative and effective use of e-commerce, carries total prize money of 214,000 for the regional and national winners.

Betty Thayer, chief executive of exec-appointments.com, said: ìWe are delighted to be nominated in the e-business section of the DTI e-commerce awards. This is heavyweight recognition that exec-appointments.com has developed and matured to become a key player in the recruitment of senior executives at home and abroad.î

exec-appointments.com is the leading recruitment site for executive, director and senior management jobs, advertising permanent, interim and contract positions from major recruiters and employers across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

The company was launched in 2002 in response to demand for a high quality, online recruitment advertising service. Since its inception, exec-appointments.com has formed a number of important associations and conducted research on the role and attitudes of non-executive directors. It established The Non-Executive Director (www.non-execs.com), the major Europe-wide source of information and comment on non-executive directors, which is produced in association with Ernst & Young.

The DTI annual awards are now in their sixth year and serve to reflect the change in e-business over the years. In 1999 there was a category for ìinnovative use of the fax,î while this yearís categories have expanded to include teleworking, use of broadband and best rural e-business. The final awards ceremony will be on October 6 2004 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
