Epcjobs.co.uk traffic rises with rebuilding of Iraq announcement

.

Traffic to EPCjobs.co.uk ó the career-search website of
engineering-and-construction recruitment firm EPCglobal ó more than quadrupled during the first 12 hours after the rebuilding plans for Iraq hit the press.

As of this morning, EPCjobs.co.uk has now had 4280 new candidates create accounts on the site, with nearly 3000 of those applicants successfully completing full registration procedures.

ìAlthough we believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg, we are very proud to see our website handling so many people registering at the same time. The site has been built to manage much more traffic than this initial
burst, so weíre very confident about being able to handle the enormous flow of information we anticipate,î said EPCjobs.co.uk Chief Technical Officer Mary Inman.

EPCglobalís Deputy CEO Richard Hoare explains the
functionality of the website by saying, ìThere is no other system built specifically for the engineering and construction industries that can profile such a broad range of relevant professionals with so much detail.

Our clients will see the real value of the site, however, when they need to select the right people for job openings. Our proprietary process allows the hiring managers in our client organizations to get an instantaneous match of
relevant candidates and applicants to job requisitions they create on the website. A few clicks and the hiring manager can quickly shortlist and select the person they want to interview and hire ñ this process would normally take days, if not weeks or months.î

Hoare continues, ìOur company and web-based system is built to respond to major international project requirements. When the pace and volume of activity is so high, a traditional approach to managing applicant flow and
mobilizing people simply doesnít make the cut. An obvious success factor in a major fast-tracked project is how fast the project team can get the right skills in the right place ñ our clients know this, and recognize EPCjobs as
the ideal solution. Being a company whose systems are web-based means that dispersed project teams, whether they be in Iraq, the UK or the US, can work seamlessly together on meeting the needs of their staffing plan. Another benefit of the web-based approach is that candidates can be sought from anywhere ó in this case, we expect a lot of traffic from the Middle East because there will be a desire to hire local talent.î Prior to joining EPCglobal, Hoare worked in the international engineering industry for 10
years.

When specific job roles and requirements are defined by EPCglobal clients, they will be posted on the EPCjobs.co.uk website. Interested parties are encouraged to create an account on www.epcjobs.co.uk so that they can be found
when jobs relevant to their skills and experience levels open up.
