ExecuNets Recruiter Confidence Index, which surged last month, dropped in July.

ExecuNetís Recruiter Confidence Index, which surged last month, dropped in July. The recent survey of 181 executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, a leader in executive-level job and networking opportunities, reveals that after months of impressive job growth, search firms are expecting the employment market will add executive-level jobs at a slightly slower pace during the second half of the year.

According to the survey, 57% of recruiters report that business conditions in the executive search industry improved in the past 30 days and 54% are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months - down from 63% in June.

During this period of time, the executive search industry is expecting a 17% increase in the number of assignments they receive from clients - down from 20% last month.

ìThe outlook for the executive employment market remains strong,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìIn lowering expectations for the next six months, recruiters are acknowledging thereís still some uncertainty in the market, which could linger as we enter the final months of the Presidential campaign.î

Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment was also tempered, as 37% of recruiters are confident or very confident the market will get better in the three months ahead down from a 15-month high of 52% in June.

To prepare for future employment market growth, 33% of search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff in the next three months - down from 44% in June. During the last three months, more than a quarter (26%) of all search firms added professional staff.
