Eden Brown brings huge savings to local authorities

With web based HR systems for the Supply of Professional Staff

Award winning public sector consultancy Eden Brown expects to deliver more than 1.4 million savings in recruitment costs to the London Borough of Hillingdon over the next three to five years through a new web based system.

Eden Brown will introduce a Vendor Management System (VMS) which will channel all vacancies and temp candidates through a single portal and reduce the number of council recruitment invoices from the current level of 7000 per annum to less than 100.

The contract, agreed on Monday (June 14th) by Mr Dorian Leatham, Chief Executive of The London Borough of Hillingdon and Mr Ian Wolter, Managing Director of Eden Brown, is expected to be worth over 20 million over the next 3 to 5 years.

Eden Brown won the contract based on its reputation as an award winning public sector consultancy, itís acknowledged good client relations and its ability to deliver an innovative and workable range of services.

ìEden Brown and the borough have already formed a close partnership which I am sure will be highly effective and bring the authority very significant savings for its residents and council tax payersî said Mr Leatham.

The VMS, provided by Express HR, will be accessed by the authorityís hiring managers, administrators and purchasing departments requiring staff. It will ensure that all agency staff usage is logged, giving 100% accurate management information. All invoicing will be processed through the VMS system, dramatically reducing processing and administration costs.

Hillingdon presently uses over 150 agencies, many of which provide specialist services. These will continue to provide services but under the new VMS system, Eden Brown will become the single point of contact between the agencies and the borough. This will give the authority an easy to use, single point of contact which maintains easy access to hard to find specialist staff.

Eden Brown managing director Ian Wolter commented: ìThis type of organisational change and the high level of savings required by the Borough would not be possible with a traditional supplier/client relationship. We have already been able to form a close working partnership with Hillingdon which will ensure success.

ìThe London Borough of Hillingdon have brought a refreshing and positive approach to the tendering process.î

The London Borough of Hillingdon has purchased this service on behalf of the London Contracts & Supply Group (33 London Authorities and other major public sector organisations). It was by using this enormous buying power that such high savings are possible. Other members of the LCSG are expected to adopt the new approach via the Eden Brown system to maximise cost savings for residents and council tax payers.
