Diversity recruiting major focus of IIRC

.

IIRC has offered diversity as part of their actionable recruiting solutions to Fortune 500 and mid-market companies for over 5 years. But now more than ever, organizations are realizing they not only need a presence on diversity sites, they need results.

LeRoy Robbins, CEO of IIRC, said, Finding top diversity talent will soon be a major impetus of every company's recruiting initiative. Simply posting jobs to AmericasJobBank.com to address workplace diversity will not be sufficient anymore. However, corporate staffing personnel should not look at the task as a burden of added time or budgetary expense. Robbins continued, There are excellent job boards evolving out there that produce quality candidates while also reducing cost-per-hire. It's just a matter of knowing where to look.

Many employers look immediately to the big name job boards such as Monster.com as an all-encompassing solution. But there have been niche sites in existence for many years that target minority groups such as Asians, African Americans, and Hispanics. There are also web sites that narrow these demographics even further by targeting specific industries such as the Society for Women Engineers (www.swe.org) and MinorityNurse.com. These focused sites are not for everyone, but by evaluating your current recruitment process, you can identify gaps in the diversity hiring process and determine what needs to be corrected, Robbins concluded.

A survey conducted by WorkplaceDiversity.com indicated that there is a disparity between workplaces and companies' customers with 72.2 percent of respondents saying that their companies do not reflect the diversity of their customers. WorkplaceDiversity's COO, Dan Honig, said, Employers need to understand that although it is an employers' job market, workplace diversity is still important to current employees and to job seekers. Employers who do not realize the importance of diversity and successfully implement diversity initiatives could be losing their share of the top talent to their competitors.
