Bristol, the business gateway to the South West, has been home to a vibrant tech scene for years. Now, two of the world’s biggest tech titans are preparing to show the savvy city how to hit the big-time.

Global recruiter Randstad Technologies, which specialises in placing people into IT jobs in Bristol and across the South West, is hosting its inaugural Technologies for Success event next week – alongside industry heavyweights Google and LinkedIn.

The event, which will be held on Wednesday 11th November at the Engine Shed in Bristol, will explore future trends in the digital and tech space. It will bring together Bristol’s best entrepreneurs, innovators and creative talent with key influencers from the digital sector for an evening of networking, social learning and business opportunities.

Tech titans LinkedIn and Google will be revealing the secrets to their success, in two engaging back-to-back presentations.

David Moore, the regional account manager for LinkedIn, will be presenting on the theme: ‘How well are you digitally networked?’, and showing the audience where they stack up against fellow CIO/CTO leaders on LinkedIn. He will also be sharing LinkedIn’s latest vision for digitally mapping the global economy by developing the world’s first economic graph.

Google’s Brian Coffey will be the second expert educating Bristol’s brightest tech-minds. His presentation, 'Work the way you live', will focus on case study examples and tools that demonstrate how businesses are changing the way they work to be more in line with the tools they use in a personal capacity.

The event, which will run between 17.30 and 20.00, will celebrate Bristol’s world-class tech talent, helping to accelerate their success by connecting them with leading digital influencers and showing them how to use the very latest digital tools available.

Ruth Jacobs, managing director of Randstad Technologies, comments: “Bristol has grown into one of the most cutting-edge tech clusters in the UK. Not only does the city push the envelope with its environmentally-friendly initiatives, it’s also at the forefront of the global smart cities movement, as well as being a major player in both the IT and robotics sectors. But even though Bristol technologies pack a punch, the city is still relatively unknown on the global arena.

“Our event – co-hosted with Google and LinkedIn – aims to correct that oversight. By allowing Bristol’s most exciting tech talent an insight into the inner workings of two tech titans, we hope to show them how to scale their businesses successfully and use the latest digital tools to reach the global stage. Bristol has first class tech talent, and we want the world to know it.”

Randstad Technologies’ Technologies for Success event will be held on Wednesday 11th November, between 17:30 – 20.00, at the following venue: Engine Shed, station approach, Bristol, BS1 6QH.
