TARGETjobs Events is delighted to announce that leading professional services firm Deloitte is the event programme partner for the long-established and successful IT’s not just for the boys!

Deloitte and TARGETjobs share a commitment to increase the number of female undergraduates who go into technology careers and to make careers in this critically important sector more attractive to women applicants. Experience of running this event for the past five years has shown that there are many, highly talented female undergraduates who never consider technology careers – which is why it’s so important to get them face-to-face with recruiters and successful women to sell the benefits, rewards and challenges. There are three IT’s not just for the boys! in Autumn 2014 and a further event in Spring 2015.

IT's not just for the boys! is a one-day, invitation-only event designed exclusively for career-motivated female undergraduates who are looking to find out more about technology careers. Students take part in practical skills sessions and team challenges designed to showcase teamwork, problem-solving and communication. They learn about the different careers available in the industry and, most valuable of all, they network with top recruiters, listen to inspirational key-note speakers, meet inspirational female role-models and recent graduates and get tips on following in their footsteps.

In addition to the event programme partner Deloitte, confirmed partners for this autumn are: Atos, Barclays, Bloomberg, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BlackRock, BT, Capital One, CHP Consulting, Citi, CGI, Credit Suisse, EMC, GE, IBM, London Stock Exchange, Marks & Spencer, Morgan Stanley, National Grid, PGDS, PwC, Sky, SunGard, Thoughtworks and TK Maxx (TJX Europe). This is a stellar line-up and indicative of the commitment of leading businesses to recruit a greater number of talented female graduates into technology careers.

Vimi Grewal-Carr, Managing Partner, Momentum & Delivery Models, Deloitte MCS Ltd says: “Technology underpins almost every aspect of the work we carry out for clients. So it’s no surprise that each of our service areas has its own technology team, focused on delivering innovation and efficiency into that part of our business.  That is why Deloitte is proud to partner GTI in delivering these events.
