Dedicated trade union recruitment site launches

LabourStartJobs.org

LabourStart, the information service for trade unionists, has launched LabourStartJobs.org - a web site developed and especially dedicated to helping union professionals find jobs in and around the trade union movement.

The new site - which will be accessible by tens of thousands of LabourStart subscribers - is the latest in the successful series of community-based recruitment portals developed in partnership with e-recruitment specialists the Internet Corporation.

LabourStartJobs.org will hold details of vacant posts at some of the worldís highest profile trade unions, catering for a wide variety of vacancies.

It is also hoped that by creating a recruitment service especially for dedicated unionists - the first of its kind - the site will also raise consciousness as to the range
of news and promotional services that the LabourStart organisation provides to more than 440 trade unions around the globe.

According to Eric Lee, LabourStart’s Editor and founder, ìitís a great opportunity for committed trade unionists to further their careers in the field ñ and for trade unions to recruit staff at low cost by reaching an audience thatís already online, web savvy and committed to the labour movement.î

LabourStart’s news service is currently utilised by some 450 trade unions from all over the world, with users on every continent. The site reports receiving 165,000 unique visitors per month.

ìWe are particularly pleased with the possibility of offering the service to trade unions in developing countries - whoíll be able to advertise their employment vacancies here absolutely free of charge. This way the trade unions in the worldís more developed societies will not only be filling their vacancies by paying for a low cost advert here at LabourStartJobs.org. Theyíll be helping their sister unions at the same time.î

ìBetter still, the regular income that LabourStartJobs.org will generate will help support our work and keep LabourStart running as a free service now and long into
the future.î

LabourStartJobs.org utilises the Internet Corporationís Amris technology - which is also behind job sites such as UNIFIís unifi4jobs.com and the Nursing & Midwifery Councilís nmc4jobs.com, and is fast becoming the e-recruitment platform of choice across a growing number of industry sectors.
