Launch of Croner-i set to simplify compliance and best practice

Croner, one of the UK’s leading providers of business information and advice, has launched a new online service to simplify legal compliance and day-to-day HR tasks. The service, CRONER-i, breaks down complex legislation into straightforward, practical advice to meet the needs of professionals who want to spend less time interpreting red tape and more time doing their job.

Using feedback from an extensive programme of usability testing among human resources professionals, CRONER-i provides instant, action-orientated HR advice and downloadable template forms and letters, making daily tasks quicker and simpler. It is updated daily to provide news on topical issues and developments in the industry, with email alerts of the latest news and legislative developments.

The interactive format enables information to be found quickly by browsing (by HR topic, A-Z index or step-by-step checklists) or by searching.

Authored by industry professionals, and complemented by access to Croner’s HR advice line, which offers expert advice on employment law issues over the phone, CRONER-i gives HR professionals the peace of mind that they have taken sufficient steps to minimise the risk of prosecution.

Anne Gallagher, product development manager for CRONER-i, says: Keeping up to date with employment legislation is complex and time-consuming and can involve wading through reams of data. We’ve therefore designed the service to be a one-stop jargon-free information source, all at the touch of a button.

Usability testing revealed an increasing need among HR professionals for quick and flexible access to advice, due to the ever-changing legal landscape and the resulting pressures on their time.

Anne says: The testing revealed the burden not only of legal compliance, but also the associated administration. The downloadable forms and letters are therefore a key advantage of the service to help standardise the HR function and free up a lot of time.

CRONER-i is Croner’s first purely online product. Anne says: People today access and use information in different ways and our research confirmed the growing reliance on the internet as a preferred source. CRONER-i offers the convenience of presenting essential facts online in a user-friendly way, while providing the assurance that the information from Croner is accurate, reliable, relevant and up to date.

We’re very excited about CRONER-i, and I’m confident that as a result of our extensive research and development, we have a product that is unrivalled in terms of its quality and usability.
