But job seekers still need to spend some time and effort to land a good job

PRINCETON, N.J. Recent college graduates who havenít found employment in a less-than-welcoming job market now have a brighter outlook, says CollegeJournal.com, The Wall Street Journalís guide for career-minded college students.
According to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, about 30% of U.S. employers expect to add workers to their payrolls in the third quarter. This optimistic result comes a year after the same survey reported its worst hiring forecast in 12 years.

ìWe are seeing an increased recovery from the recent hiring slump,î says Tony Lee, editor in chief, CollegeJournal.com. ìThis is good news for the class of 2004 and those from the class of 2003, who were unable to find full-time employment.î

Mr. Lee adds: ìStrong job sectors include manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and services. The education sector showed the greatest improvement in hiring outlook, with 16% of employers expecting to hire, compared with 8% last quarter.î

Even with strong hiring expectations nationwide, CollegeJournal.com cautions that job seekers still need to spend some time and effort to land a good job.
