CIPD Recruitment Marketing Awards 2004 launched

.

The CIPD Recruitment Marketing Awards in partnership with the Guardian recognise the country’s best ideas for attracting and recruiting people. Winning entries to the awards, which are divided into seventeen categories, feature some of the most groundbreaking methods of recruitment marketing in the UK. This year’s closing date for entries is 26 March 2004.

Rose Colledge, Chair of Judges, commented: Great organisations only succeed because of good people. But how do organisations attract good people? What is it that enables some organisations to recruit top talent with apparent ease while others struggle - despite attractive benefits, strong brands and admirable working practices? Our awards attempt to recognise those special campaigns and initiatives that make a unique difference to their organisations.

Last year, winners of the overall Grand Prix, Hertfordshire Constabulary, produced an imaginative and highly targeted campaign which gave a great boost to the numbers and quality of people the force recruited. Hertfordshire’s improvement - despite a force which paid better, the Met, competing for the same recruits on its doorstep - drew admiring comments from a government minister.

Other top winners included Levi Strauss and the Prison Service, while Sainsbury’s won the Best Innovation category for producing a free pool table with Sainsbury’s orange baize, web address proudly displayed, for student halls of residence. Could there be a more targeted campaign?
