Chilean companies get online

Over 40 percent of companies in Chile have an Internet connection, reports Business News Americas.

This is according to the Ministerio de Economa.

Around 64 percent of Chilean companies have a computer while 43.6 percent have a connection to the Internet.

Nearly 15 percent of businesses have a website and 19.5 percent have dedicated Internet connections.

The report indicates that 36 percent of Chilean companies have neither PCs or Internet access, while 20 percent of companies with PCs have no Internet connection.

The report indicates that 70 percent of companies with Internet access use the Net primarily for transactions with banks and public service providers.

Thirty-five percent of companies with Net access use the Internet for business suppliers and 30 percent use it for business with clients.
