BostonWorks launches initiative designed to deliver Boston's most desired employees

.

BostonWorks has announced a program intended to deliver the most coveted employees to companies looking to hire local candidates. While BostonWorks continues to deliver the active job seeker the ability to reach candidates who are not actively looking for a new career opportunity, the announcement leverages BostonWorks strength and key differentiator through the reach of The Boston Globe and Boston.com.

The initiative is designed to reach the currently employed candidate, often called the passive job seeker. This candidate is not currently looking for an opportunity but would change jobs if the right one came along. Passive job seekers make up 80 percent of the workforce, are often a company''s top performer and are considered the most coveted candidates.

When you are looking for new hires, you want to reach the best qualified candidates who can contribute to the success of your organization. However, the best employee for your company may already be employed and not actively looking for a new opportunity, said Peter Newton, president of BostonWorks.

The passive job seeker is difficult for hiring managers to reach because these candidates are not actively visiting online employment sites or searching recruitment ads. By leveraging the success of the Globe and Boston.com, BostonWorks reaches 64 percent of employed adults in this market.
