Advanced Selection spells success in the south

Low unemployment levels and a demand for quality staff have prompted a rising number of companies in the south to turn to experts for their recruitment.

Low unemployment levels and a demand for quality staff have prompted a rising number of companies in the south to turn to experts for their recruitment.

Candidates in the 18,000-27,000 sector are in highest demand with technical firms in the south currently proving the most active in terms of recruitment.

Andy Hughes from Advanced Selection in Southampton said that companies in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight are currently looking for quality staff but finding a widespread shortage of skilled candidates.

ìWe are dealing with the recruitment of staff in disciplines ranging from engineering through to manufacturing, electronics, distribution and telecom sectors within 50 mile radius of Southampton,íí said Mr Hughes, who has more than 20 years experience in recruitment.

ìCompanies in these sectors know they have to recruit wisely and we have been working with them to employ staff in areas from technical to operations and supply chain staff.íí

Set up six months ago, Mr Hughes said that Advanced Selection was quickly building a strong brand in the south by working in a niche market and offering the levels of service which companies now demand.

Advanced Selection, part of the Guildsrealm group, is now so busy in this sector that it is looking for additional consultants to meet demand for its dedicated service.

ìCompanies come to us for solutions to their recruitment needs and know that we are a one-stop shop for selecting the right candidates, assessing potential employees and being part of Guildsrealm means we can also offer wider HR resources when necessary.íí

With unemployment set to continue at low levels Mr Hughes said that growing demand for quality candidates will continue, creating a strong market for candidates and an even more competitive market for employers looking to recruit for the long term.
