The Institute of Recruiters (IOR), the professional membership body that brings recruitment and HR practitioners together under one roof, opens its doors to members today (June 1st).

Founded to represent the interests of recruiters and HR professionals both in the UK and overseas, the not-for-profit organisation offers a wide range of benefits and services to its members, with a strong emphasis on education.

Its distinct focus on professional education allows members to grow their careers and businesses through internationally-recognised university qualifications. The IOR also provides access to free software, best practice guides, knowledge webinars, CPD training, model documents, support and advice.

Membership of the IOR is available on several levels, based on assessed and qualified standards.

“We have been thrilled with the volume of activity that has taken place in the IOR’s LinkedIn Group in the lead-up to the launch, which has shown there’s a real need for a body like the IOR within the sector. The organisation will be a hub of best practice, where members can share knowledge, collaborate and connect with peers from across the world. We are excited to start welcoming members into the organisation,” says Dave Barber, Director of Member Services at the IOR.

“One important aim for the IOR is to provide a platform to further professionalise the recruitment and HR industries, creating international standards in vocational education for the sector. We look forward to working with our partners and our members to continue on this journey,” explains Azmat Mohammed, Director of ICT and Operations at the IOR.

The IOR has worked hard to find the most relevant and highest-quality partners to offer services and training to its members. These include Cisco Systems, HR Insight, Peninsula and VI International.

Individual membership starts at a free affiliate level, rising to £49 as a fellow and £249 for corporate membership. There is no joining fee.
