AllAboutCareers.com, the new social-careers website for students aged 16-24, launched this week. The site has been created by the team of experts who created AllAboutLaw, one of the leading law careers websites, which boasts in excess of 30,000 unique monthly users and over 50 clients.

AllAboutCareers aims to help students get off on the right foot by finding something they have a genuine passion for.

“On average, students spend one hour and 18 minutes on the internet each day[i]”, said Director, Paul Harris. “With AllAboutCareers, they can put this time to good use and still interact and network with their friends.”

“Everything on the site can be personalised to each individual user’s interests, meaning they won’t waste any time sifting through irrelevant careers information. They create a personal profile and ‘noticeboard’ that tailors everything to suit their needs. What’s more, they can see what their friends are up to and bounce ideas off each other.”

Having launched on Monday, site users have already been growing at a fantastic rate. If the success they have had with AllAboutLaw is anything to go by, we can expect this site to be a major player by the summer.

The site has already received thousands of visits and hundreds of sign-ups, aided in part by a quirky video featuring James Buckley, most commonly known as Jay from The Inbetweeners. With trials underway in high schools across the country, the future certainly looks promising and the site seems to appeal to students in a different way to other attempts.

“From our experience of working with law students, we know that Generation Y are an extremely demanding bunch,” said Paul. “They crave information and are so often underestimated. We want to supply them with information to make them more commercially aware, whilst organically developing them as potential employees through their daily use of the site.”

One of the key innovations of the AllAboutCareers site is the ‘Noticeboard’, which acts as a personalised careers information feed. This keeps people up-to-date with industry news, allows them to see what other users are looking at and gradually helps them to become better informed. They can read articles, blogs and forum topics, engage in discussions and bounce ideas off like-minded people.

To get involved, head over to www.AllAboutCareers.com, create your profile and started receiving tailored information.
