TSL Education has launched Version 2 of TES HireWire, its revolutionary free online recruitment service for schools, which offers new features and improved performance based on user feedback. The enhancements in Version 2 include leading-edge data security, improved message handling, and the ability for schools to add screening questions to the recruitment filtering process.

The latest improvements cap a launch year in which TES HireWire has exceeded all expectations – 2,000 secondary schools have signed up to the service and are already using Version 2. With 60 per cent of secondary schools in England on board, TES HireWire is the undisputed market leader. The industry has acknowledged its success, placing it on the exclusive shortlist in the Leadership and Management Solutions category of the BETT Awards 2010. With the popularity of TES HireWire firmly established, TSL Education will launch a version for local authorities at the BETT show in January 2010.

Bill Donoghue, Managing Director at TSL Education, said: “TES HireWire is a huge success for TSL since launch and continues to exceed all of our expectations. Its success endorses the multimillion-pound investment we have made. From the very positive feedback we receive from schools and candidates alike, the industry recognition from the BETT Awards shortlist, some 2,000 secondary schools using the service, 16,000 teachers registered as candidates and more than 1,600 vacancies advertised in a variety of media, we are delighted and overwhelmed by its success. Our strategy at TSL Education is to help schools recruit the best teachers for the right roles in a timely and cost-effective way. TES HireWire supports that strategy and helps professionalise the recruitment process at the same time.”

Bill Donoghue continued: “Following the popularity of TES HireWire with schools, we are launching a version of the service for local authorities in January at the BETT show. Some 50 local authorities – including 12 of the largest in the country – have already expressed an interest in using the service, and that number grows every day. TES HireWire LA will provide local authorities with a completely free hosted job board, a free applicant-tracking service and free reporting on recruitment activity. In addition, TES HireWire LA can be easily integrated into existing local authority applications and processes.”

Such achievements testify to the fact that using TES HireWire saves schools time, money and resources by allowing them to manage their recruitment process seamlessly online, from advertising a vacancy in any media to evaluating the responses and making an appointment. But it is not just schools that benefit – teachers find that TES HireWire makes the application process smoother, quicker and more efficient with improved communication with schools.

Another advantage of using TES HireWire is that it allows schools direct access to TES Connect, the largest professional teaching community in the UK with more than 850,000 members. TES Connect now has 40,000 free teaching resources and lesson plans, which are downloaded more than 2 million times a month by teachers.
