John Husselbee, Chief Investment Officer, North Investment Partners

John Husselbee is the Chief Investment Officer of North Investment Partners, an independent discretionary investment management company, dedicated to delivering innovative, practical and profitable investment solutions to a variety of carefully selected clients. As founding director, John launched North in August 2005 and has over twenty years’ experience in running multi asset, multi manager portfolios garnered at both Henderson Global Investors, where he was Director of Multi Manager Investment, and prior to that at Rothschild Asset Management, where he was responsible for the launch and ongoing management of their portfolio management service. John is a well-respected commentator within the UK mutual fund industry and sits on the judging panel for the prestigious Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards.


Katie Reed, Online Marketing Consultant, Direct Line Group

Katie is the Online Marketing Consultant within the Resourcing team at Direct Line Group, responsible for the careers website, search marketing, social media and CRM. Katie started her career in newspaper sales promotion and marketing for weekly titles in the South West as part of DMGT. She then moved into fashion marketing for JD Williams Group, launching the menswear brand Jacamo anddelivering the retention activity for both menswear brands owned by the group. Entering the world of financial services marketing in 2008 with a direct marketing role at HBOS, this was followed by full mix and online roles at Swinton Group before joining Direct Line Group in May 2011. The Direct Line Group careers website has recently won the 2013 ONREC award for Best Corporate Graduate Website and is a finalist for Best Client Careers Website at the S1 Awards 2013 as well as being shortlisted for Best Careers Website at the 2012 In-house Recruitment Awards.


Jason Gowlett, Head of Resourcing, Direct Line Group

Jason heads Direct Line Group’s resourcing team, leading the development and delivery of the company’s end-to-end recruitment journey for a diverse range of roles from actuaries to spray painters! Jason started his career at RBS Group in 1986.  His first job was sorting cheques in the clearing department and since then he has held roles covering almost every part of RBS Group, before moving into recruitment 9 years ago.  Previous roles include setting up and leading a lending centre as well as leading call centre operations.  Jason has also been involved in and led a number of change programmes before joining RBS Insurance (now Direct Line Group) in January 2011. Jason successfully led the separation of the resourcing functions from RBS Group, which included introducing new teams, technologies and processes.  Jason’s team recently won the 2013 ONREC award for Best Corporate Graduates Website and are final nominees at the 2013 Recruiter Awards for ‘Best in-House Recruiter’, ‘Best In-house Recruitment Team’, ‘Most Effective Employer Brand Development’ and ‘Graduate Recruitment Website’.

Stephanie Weiss, Trainer & Recruiting Specialist, AIRS

Stephanie started her recruitment career at Lockheed Martin as the Intern Program Manager who recruited entry level candidates of all specialties and across the spectrum from non-technical to technical. She eventually moved over to experienced professional recruitment where she took great pleasure in finding highly cleared engineers of all disciplines for multiple sites. She discovered true satisfaction through creating the social media strategy for the leadership association within Lockheed Martin, and training her fellow recruiters on the newest technologies and search methodologies. Stephanie holds a BS in Psychology and a MS in Human Resources Management from Texas A&M University. He has spoken at conferences throughout the world and is one of the guest experts on a series of industry training videos.


Lila Dowie, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, Anthony Nolan

Lila Dowie is Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Anthony Nolan with over 10 years experience of managing corporate and commercial partnerships.  Successes include managing a partnership with Wilkinson that generated £1.6m against a £1m target.  Before joining Anthony Nolan, Lila spent four years at Help a London Child managing strategic partnerships including Marriott Hotels, Fitness First, ITV and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.  Prior to joining the charity, Lila worked for five years as a producer for Xfm and the BBC working with the likes of Vodafone and producing shows for, among others, Adam and Joe, Lauren Laverne and Steve Wright. 


Ann O’Leary, Head of Recruitment & Register Development

Ann is Head of Register Development at Anthony Nolan and is responsible for ensuring the optimum size and composition of Anthony Nolan's Register of potential bone marrow donors.  This involves managing all areas of recruitment, education and retention of donors on the register.  Ann has been working in the area of altruistic donor recruitment for 7 years, having spent 4 years with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service before moving to Anthony Nolan. Anthony Nolan has recently won the Charity Times award for Charity of the Year 2012, a Creative Out of Home (Transport) award and a Cannes Radio Lion award for their recruitment campaigns. 


Belinda Johnson, Owner, Worklab

Belinda is owner of employment research consultancy, Worklab. She is also an associate at Econolyst - one of the world's leading consultancies dedicated to 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing. Both through Worklab, Econolyst and in her previous capacity as a Director of Knowledge & Insight for one of the world's largest HR services companies, Randstad, she has spent most of the last decade researching the forces that impact organisational need for people - all facets of work, working and workplace. She also monitors the shifting sentiment towards the way that people wish to be engaged in work. Belinda was author of the REC's Recruitment 2022 report, published at the end of 2012 and is currently working on another commission from the REC Technology Sector group.
