Creating a careers site tailored to the candidate experience

Direct Line Group has gone through a very unique experience by separating from an established, well-known company – RBS Group. Needless to say it was a massive endeavour, but it gave us the opportunity to do things ‘our way’ and leave behind systems and processes that weren’t necessarily fit for purpose as a stand-alone insurance company. One shining example of success has been our careers site.

We created our new careers site with the desire to construct a candidate-centric site, including content and functionality to provide an exceptional candidate experience. To do this, our strategy and planning process included candidate personas, content sessions and market research. These investigations led to a site that includes videos, an application process feature, location map, self selection tool, and RSS feeds.

The success of the site can be seen in the increased application volume, more site visits month on month, and our visitor to application ratio…not to mention our two award wins! We hope to continue our success and stay at the forefront through continuous improvements, and our new mobile site.
