People are talking about InterviewStudio!
Who is the site published by?
InterviewStudio or www.InterviewStudio.com is the product of Recruitment, Inc. a company incorporated in Delaware, with operational headquarters in Bellevue, WA.
When was the site launched?
InterviewStudio was conceived as part of the solution set of Devon James Associates, Inc. in the early 2000’s in the course of assisting several Northwest based Employers in their recruiting processes. We came to realize that there was a real commercial need for a product like InterviewStudio, and decided to formally roll it out as a separate company. Working part time on it since late 2005, we have just publicly launched the site (www.InterviewStudio.com) in the Fall of 2007.
How many employees are there in the company?
There are currently 5 employees (some part time) and several contractors and volunteers who are assisting InterviewStudio in their first year of business. We are of course engineering-heavy in this first phase, with part time expertise in marketing, channel sales, finance, legal, and project management. We are fortunate to also have a strong Advisory Board with representation from major job boards, software companies, human resource organizations, and executive management.
Do you run any other recruitment sites?
InterviewStudio is the spin-off of a high end boutique retained recruitment firm, Devon James Associates, Inc. which was founded in 1992 in the Seattle area. See more at www.devonjames.com.
Since 1992, Devon James offers their “Onsite Recruiting War Room” that has been used by Amazon, Avenue A, Entellium, Airbiquity, Visio, Rhapsody Networks, Cranium, HTC and others for high quality/high speed recruiting. A systemized outsourced solution for scaling up companies or divisions, the model includes recruitment services for immediate hires, training, ROI reporting, knowledge transfer from the DJA team, and a leave-behind system with full audit trails and pipelines for the future.
InterviewStudio was developed, in part, in response to the hiring angst that Devon James witnessed on the part of hiring managers and internal recruiting teams while onsite in their Recruiting War Rooms. They needed a more robust view of the candidates upfront in order to screen properly, and save weeks of time and interview travel budget. Introducing a one-shot view of a candidate to fast moving interviewing teams has been met with rave reviews, since they can get a rich multi-faceted view of a candidate’s corporate culture match, communication style, personality and all-around fit before investing both time and money in a round of onsite interviews.
What is the geographical coverage of the site?
InterviewStudio has global range, since it is a web hosted application (becoming more Web 2.0 by the week!) that can be accessed by anyone with a computer and internet connection. Employers in 19 countries have browsed our site in interest in a very few months since we have launched the site. Since InterviewStudio is a tool for Candidates looking to promote themselves, and a tool for Employers to incorporate in their remote candidate screening process, and an elegant platform for Recruiters to use in presenting their candidates to their clients, it is truly a global application with only the localization boundaries of any software product.
How many unique users does the site average per month?
Since InterviewStudio has just launched, we do not have a good feel for the traffic that will be visiting our site, but have been very fortunate to have been found and reviewed by several other sites in the last few months of 2007, including www.killerstartups.com, http://www.centernetworks.com/startup-review-dec-1, http://momb.socio-kybernetics.net/beta/interviewstudio, http://recruitingfly.blogspot.com/2007/09/new-tool-alert-interviewstudio.html, http://simplespark.com/catalog/interviewstudio, http://www.hrmarketer.com/~blog/2007/09/interviewstudio-launches-online.html, http://www.salesteamtools.com/2007/09/13/secure-your-next-sales-job-with-interviewstudio/, http://bobstumpel.blogspot.com/2007/11/interviewstudio-job-board-with-video.html, http://visionwiz.blogspot.com/2007/11/interviewstudio-combines-newest-online.html, and many more. One of the reasons we are posting our information on sites such as Onrec is to drive more traffic to our site and to obtain valuable feedback from those viewers. We are beginning several web campaigns in this regard. Just go to Google and type in: InterviewStudio!
What is the target market of the site?
There are 3 distinct and symbiotic target markets for InterviewStudio.
1. Employers seeking to hire mid to upper level positions in any industry. InterviewStudio targets employers who are spending money (and potentially wasting time) flying candidates across a state or country and putting them up for the night to spend several hours in interviews during the productive working day of the interview team. With InterviewStudio, this “first interview” could take place before or after hours by individual members of the interview team on their own schedule without disrupting their day. When finalist candidates are then selected using InterviewStudio, those candidates could be flown in for a formal round of interviews.
2. Job seekers for those positions who want to present a richer view of themselves to recruiters and/or hiring managers. Any Job Seeker can go to the InterviewStudio website and create a “showcase” or total view of themselves online by using our easy Step-by-Step Show Building process, and then send that Showcase out to any Recruiter or Employer they wish. They upload a resume, take an online assessment, enter their references/endorsers, create an online profile of additional information and document links, and even create their video interview (using a webcam) all from the comfort of their home or office (we even provide the list of interview questions they can choose from to answer in this video interview). If they wish to use a professional videographer for the video interview portion, they also have that option in a drop-down list of videographers close to their location.
3. Recruiters who wish to present a richer, more elegant presentation of their candidates to their Employer Clients. Recruiters can sign up for an account in InterviewStudio and ask their candidates to go in and build Showcases of themselves that the recruiters can then present to their clients to view.
Does the site have an archive of resumes or candidate profiles?
InterviewStudio will eventually have archives of resumes and Candidate Showcases that Job Seekers have chosen to include in the subscriber database. InterviewStudio showcases built by Job Seekers are private and under the total control of the Job Seeker, so they can opt into the database or opt out at their discretion. Job Seekers will have annual accounts on InterviewStudio and can change/update their Showcases at any time, and may have different versions to upload to our subscriber database at different times if they wish to. Generally, Job Seekers will choose which Employers or Recruiters to send their Showcases to, on a case by case basis.
Additionally, Employer and Recruiter subscribers to InterviewStudio may offer the InterviewStudio showcasing tool for free to their candidates, and would therefore be building their own database of InterviewStudio Showcases of candidates. This gives them their choice whether to maintain ownership of those job seeker ‘showcases’ or release them back to the job seeker.
What is the fee to search the site's database?
Employers and Recruiters who sign up for an account with InterviewStudio will pay a monthly fee to use the entire system (From $1000 to $5000 per month). This will include the capability to build a number of Job Folders for storing the URLs of the candidate’s Showcases, a certain amount of Showcase “Views” per month, the capability to message back and forth with candidates, forward the Showcases within their interview teams, rank and comment on the candidates within the system, and search by name or location for the candidates they have chosen to view and store in their Job Folders.

2. Video Interviews
3. Video Resumes
4. Applicant Screening
5. Executive Hiring
6. Assessments
7. Online Resumes

Describe your site in your own words?
InterviewStudio is a ground breaking new platform that brings speed, efficiency and effectiveness to the hiring manager and job seeker alike. Simply stated, InterviewStudio provides a website where Candidates come to build Showcases of themselves, and Employers/Recruiters come to view them.
In the time it takes a Hiring Manager to review a traditional resume, he or she can now, using InterviewStudio, review the candidate's resume, evaluate the results of a nationally recognized assessment test, watch a video taped interview, look for public information on the candidate in Google and identify their social network via LinkedIn, all from the same platform and in a matter a minutes. Based on this broad base of information on the candidate, the hiring manager can quickly determine if the individual may be the right 'fit' for their firm and warrant the time and expense of an in person interview.
For job seekers, the InterviewStudio platform offers a candidate the ability to uniquely showcase their complete skills, abilities and talents to a hiring manager and dramatically improve their ability to gain an in person interview.
Have you any additional information for jobseekers?
Tips on how to write an effective resume and how to create a professional video interview are included on the site, as well as a video about why you might want to take an Assessment test. We are constantly creating new content for our Best Practices section, and of course there are links to other sites with good interviewing, resume writing, and video creation tips and advice.
What other online recruitment related services do you supply?
The Recruitment services that surround InterviewStudio are resume uploading, resume writing assistance, assessment administration, assessment result reports and consulting, social network linking, interview question libraries, video interviewing, videography services, and career page linking.
Our sister company, Devon James Associates, Inc. (the company from which InterviewStudio was spun out) is a full service RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) company and also provides HR consulting services in best practices and HRIS system selection.
What are your future plans for the site?
For Candidates/Job Seekers:
The InterviewStudio platform currently offers candidate profiles, video interviews, online resumes, social networking profiles, professional assessment tests, business endorsements, and data about the candidates from internet search engines. These ingredients make up the total Candidate Showcase that Job Seekers control and can send out to any Employer or Recruiter of their choice. Future enhancements will include applicant reference and background checking documents that the candidate can opt to show/hide in their Showcase for selected Employers and Recruiters.
For Employers/Recruiters:
The InterviewStudio platform currently offers a rich view of a candidate all on one screen in one place. Candidates have pre-built these Showcases for you to view. In the near future, Employers/Recruiters will be able to add up to five unique interview questions (in addition to their choices from our 1000+ interview question library in existence today) per Job. Additionally, we will be offering Employers/Recruiters the ability to search the Showcase database by name, location, and keyword when the InterviewStudio opt-in database gets a greater volume of candidates.
We have many potential plans for the site that will be released on a quarterly basis in response to the input of our target markets.
