Speaker Bio
Peter M. Zollman is founding principal of Classified Intelligence LLC and the Advanced Interactive Media Group LLC, internationally known consulting groups that work with newspapers, broadcasters, dot-coms, yellow-page companies and technology providers to develop profitable interactive services.
Zollman’s unique experience in all phases of media – both traditional and interactive – serves his clients well. He is an authority on the development of interactive products by traditional media, and on the $100 billion (annual) global field of classified advertising. A dynamic and sought-after adviser and keynote speaker, he has presented in more than 20 countries, including China, Japan, Australia, the U.K. and Brazil, as well as the U.S. and Canada.
Before founding the AIM Group in 1997, Zollman was Director of News at the world’s most advanced interactive-media project, Time Warner’s Full Service Network. The project served 4,000 homes near Orlando, Fla., with a full range of interactive television services, including news on demand, movies on demand and high-speed Internet access.
An award-winning journalist, Zollman has been a reporter, editor, manager, sales executive and senior executive with news and sales responsibilities. He has worked for both United Press International and Reuters news service, and at one time served as restaurant reviewer in New Orleans, which he called “the world’s best city for food and eating out.” His media roots go back 35 years to his job as a news editor at the Tonawanda News, an 18,000-circulation daily newspaper near Buffalo, N.Y.
In building the AIM Group and Classified Intelligence, Zollman has developed an impressive, global list of clients as well as an internationally acclaimed group of consultants. The companies’ clients have included Sears, Roebuck and Co., the American Medical Association, ABC News, Microsoft, Yahoo, The New York Times Co., News 12, Daily Mail and General Trust (UK), Fairfax (Australia), the Times of India, and more than 300 other media companies, dot-coms and others.
Zollman has appeared on the CBS Evening News and National Public Radio, and has been quoted frequently in The New York Times and The Washington Post along with many other publications. He is also a prolific writer and editor, and has overseen, researched and published reports about Craigslist; the changing classified advertising marketplace; “local search” and the threat it poses to newspapers; online ad sales strategies, and many other topics.
