Speaker Bio

Jeremy C. Garlington is a leadership consultant who specializes in branding and transition issues facing executive-level business leaders. He also publishes “The Garlington Report” (TGR) www.povblogger.blogspot.com, a web log that tracks news and views from the senior-level talent perspective.

Garlington currently serves as managing partner of Point of View, LLC (2003-Present), a consultancy based in Atlanta. Clients include some of the nation’s top business figures active in executive search, technology and financial services. A regular speaker and contributor, Garlington’s perspectives have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fortune, Bloomberg Business News, BRANDWEEK, The Atlanta Journal & Constitution and, Atlanta Business Chronicle. He contributes frequently to the on-line coverage of Business to Business magazine, which covers news and issues impacting Atlanta-based companies.

Garlington formerly served as manager, corporate communications at Heidrick & Struggles International (2000-2002.) Responsibilities included national positioning efforts for the firm’s industry practices and Office of the Chairman. Highlighted achievement: Extensive market exposure surrounding GE’s historic CEO succession and subsequent placements at Home Depot and 3-M, respectively. Garlington worked closely with the firm’s board and CEO practice to cultivate distinctive points of view on leadership, human capital, governance and succession issues.

Prior to Heidrick & Struggles, Garlington served as a consultant and account supervisor at GCI Atlanta (1996-2000), a subsidiary of Grey Global Group (Grey Advertising.) His work included corporate and internal communications for the firm’s professional service clients. Garlington previously worked as a consultant at Knapp Inc., an independent communications advisory firm, (1993-1996) and as an editor for National Real Estate Investor (1992-1993.) He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Journalism – News/Editorial (December 1991.)

He and his wife, Melinda, live in Atlanta.
