He is the author Deciding Who Leads: How Executive Recruiters Drive, Direct & Disrupt the Global Search for Leadership Talent (April 2008, Davies-Black Publishing), a book exploring the global executive search consulting business and its impact on corporate leadership, culture and organizational performance. It has been endorsed as “one of the 30 best business books of 2008” by SoundView Executive Book Summaries.
Now a contributing editor and online columnist for BusinessWeek, Mr. McCool also writes as senior contributing editor with ExecuNet, a leading executive business network that has connected leaders since 1988, and as featured columnist for Search-Consult, His perspectives on executive search consulting, corporate talent management and management succession best practices have been cited in media worldwide, including The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Economist, Investor’s Business Daily and three books by other authors.
