Robert Meltzer

Robert C. Meltzer, Esq. has taken VISANOW from concept to reality and now leads the company in its pursuit of revolutionizing immigration process management. Beginning his career at the legal office of the United Nations World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, Robert concentrated on public international law, international contracts and international copyright. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1986, he entered private practice where he continued in international law and expanded his practice to include immigration law. After practicing immigration law for over 15 years, he realized the potential to utilize technology to streamline the management of the immigration process and founded VISANOW.

Robert is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit. He has experience in all appellate processes in the practice of immigration law and has represented clients before the United States Supreme Court on immigration law issues.

Robert was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1980, and a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1985. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. Robert has also received certificates and diplomas from the Henri Dunant Institute in Geneva, Switzerland; The Institute de Internationale Droits de L'homme in Strasbourg, France; and the University of Salzburg/McGeorge School of Law in Salzburg, Austria.

Robert is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and has been a member of the International and Immigration Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association since 1985, where he served as a Council Member, 1985-present; Section Secretary, 1988-1989; Vice Chairman, 1989-1990; and Chairman, 1990-1991. He has served as an Editor of The Globe, the Newsletter of the International and Immigration Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association, since 1984, and has received the Illinois State Bar Associations Editors Award in both 1989 and 1994. Robert is an author, lecturer and an Adjunct Professor of International Law at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Robert is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Daywalka Foundation. He is also a member of the Northern Illinois University College of Law (NIUCOL) Board of Visitors as well as the Law School's Technology Planning Committee.
