Job offers for young unemployed people after skills programme

Industry leading digital services company, Atos UK&I, has offered jobs to a number of participants of the ‘Get Into’ programme which provides disadvantaged young people with the training and experience they need to get into work.

The company and the UK’s leading youth charity, The Prince’s Trust, selected eleven 16-25-year-olds not in work, education or training, for a four-week programme with Atos which is the first partner of The Prince’s Trust to launch ‘Get into Administration & Customer Service’.

The programme provided training in customer service and software plus a week on placement at the Atos North East business process services headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees. This was followed by a final week of project-based work, as well as a presentation and interview preparation.

Ten trainees completed the course with enhanced interpersonal, team-working and key job skills and although direct employment is not a strict requirement of the programme, five of the participants were offered full-time roles with Atos subject to relevant security clearances.

The remaining participants will be offered further support, mentoring and training from The Prince’s Trust to further develop employment prospects.

Adrian Gregory, CEO Atos UK&I, commented: “It is clear that with the right training coupled with the commitment from participants and businesses to make it work, programmes like this can and do make a difference. We are particularly thrilled for those that have had an offer of employment and wish all those who took part every success for the future.”

Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust go into work, education or training.
