Sarah Dickens, Marketing Manager at Recruitive comments: “June saw the highest ever number of automotive job vacancies advertised via our multi-job posting technology, beating the previous record, held in January 2015, by an astonishing six percent.”
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers, the automotive industry accounts for £15.5 billion of value added to the UK economy each year and is one of the biggest sectors that could be affected by the referendum decision to opt out of the EU.
Sarah continues: “Almost twelve per cent of total UK exports come from the automotive industry, the majority of which end up in Europe. Given that car companies may be wary of giving UK plants new work, whilst the prospect of trade tariffs looms, it will be interesting to see what happens to the number of vacancies within the sector over the coming months.”
Record Number of Automotive Jobs in June
